Prize pool grows to HK$20.8 Million through Triple Trio, Quartet and Merged Pool Promotion

At Chinese New Year, Hong Kong Lottery will offer prizes totalling HK$20.8 million; Triple Trio jackpot is increased by HK$5 million and Quartet & First 4 Merged Pool Prize Pool raises to HK$4.8 million to make winning one of six top prizes easier with single unit investments of only HK$10!

Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra (HK Phil) became the inaugural Asian orchestra to win this coveted accolade at London’s Gramophone Classical Music Awards Ceremony – widely considered the “Oscars of classical music”. Conducted by Jaap van Zweden and recorded for Naxos label, their live recording of Wagner’s Ring Cycle received this coveted award.

Professor James Jolly, Director of the Hong Kong Phil, expressed his delight with this prestigious international recognition: “This award is an immense testament to both our ensemble’s incredible talent and Jaap van Zweden’s tireless leadership as Music Director of our orchestra.”

Prof. Moazzin has won four History Department Teaching Prizes and eight CUHK Faculty of Arts Research Excellence Awards since 2000. As well as his academic work, he is active in community outreach work; convening the 20th Biennial Conference of IPHS Hong Kong.

Due to his efforts in supporting Hong Kong’s international development, Generocity awarded him with their HK$5,000 competition that sought innovative ideas on shaping Hong Kong’s role on the world stage.

Jimmy Lai, Chow Hang-tung, Gwyneth Ho, Lee Cheuk-yan and Joshua Wong of Hong Kong have been nominated this year for the Nobel Peace Prize due to their tireless commitment to protecting freedoms in Hong Kong and advancing democracy. These individuals’ contributions have made a remarkable difference to many lives around them and we salute their achievements – we wish that their efforts continue inspiring people across the world!
