Donning your swimsuit and taking a dip are surefire ways to escape Hong Kong’s hot summer heat. Hotel pools in this vibrant city provide the ideal place to unwind after sightseeing and shopping; especially the Island Shangri-La’s breathtaking outdoor pool which offers unparalleled skyline views! But even if you don’t stay at any of these amazing hotels, public pools provide unforgettable moments for relaxation – make the most out of every afternoon by making use of one of Hong Kong’s beautiful public pools for an unforgettable afternoon experience!

As part of its efforts to reopen public pools, Leisure and Cultural Services Department is permitting only limited swimmers in each facility, easing social distancing rules at each site but closing 38 pools until Monday for further cleaning and disinfection; lifeguard unions have warned that reopening will cause class cancellations as well as other issues.

Hong Kong’s public swimming pools may be open, but it’s important to note that their opening hours vary by day and season. Some pools close for cleaning on certain days of the week or sometimes annually for maintenance work – before heading out, be sure to consult the Leisure and Cultural Services Department site to check its individual schedules for each pool in your neighborhood.

Not all pools provide lockers; some provide you with coin-operated lockers instead, which you can then deposit back into a slot when done using. Some pools also provide snack bars.

At any location in Hong Kong, you can purchase a monthly public pool ticket for just HKD$150; single entrance admission costs just HKD$19 with reduced prices for students, children under 13, seniors aged 60 or over and people with disabilities. Concessionary rates also exist.

Apart from its luxurious indoor and outdoor pools, this hotel also boasts an exceptional Roman-themed pool that creates the feel of vacationing in Italy rather than Hong Kong. This pool features gorgeous statuesque columns that add to its palatial ambience while providing breathtaking views of Hong Kong’s skyline.

While at the resort, make sure to spend some time relaxing in its luxurious spa with a whirlpool tub facing Victoria Harbour as well as an indoor and outdoor lap pool. Plus if you feel adventurous enough, they even feature an adventure park featuring waterslides and other activities suitable for children as well as adults!
