The 7th Annual HK Prize for Students
The HK Prize offers students a platform for sharing ideas and initiatives to advance Hong Kong’s standing on the global stage, with cash prizes of up to HK$25,000 up for grabs as well as international exposure for their idea(s).
The Hong Kong Students Prize 2024 competition is open to students enrolled at secondary schools across HK. To participate, nominated teachers must submit an entry form with student artworks by the submission deadline; then our panel of judges will evaluate and assess these pieces, awarding one winning artist a Judges Prize worth HK$8,000 as their reward; shortlisted artists will then be featured at an exhibition called Hong Kong Students Prize 2024.
Hong Kong is a vibrant center of culture and creativity, where practitioners from various artistic fields express their perspectives on global change through various artistic media. The Prize’s objective is to encourage these artists to continue exploring creative endeavors while becoming established arts professionals and contributing positively to society through artistic endeavors, projects or further studies; providing recognition, support and encouragement along the way while simultaneously giving them exposure as winners of this Prize on a global scale through top-tier media coverage as winners of this Prize.
Kong Tsz-yan has distinguished herself with an extraordinary level of resilience and dedication in her pursuit of becoming a world-class athlete. Although suffering multiple injuries during her early career – including two ligament ruptures – Kong has overcome these hurdles to win multiple gold medals at both Olympic Games and Asian Championships, as well as further her academic studies by enrolling at law schools in both the US and Hong Kong, and receiving her master’s degree at Chinese University of Hong Kong.
This year’s prize ceremony will take place on 17 October at the Hong Kong Palace Museum to mark its seventh anniversary and be attended by over 100 renowned scientists from around the world, including Nobel Chemistry Prize laureates. Prizes will be distributed for Life Science, Physical Science, Mathematical and Computer Sciences; expert panels from academia and industry will judge these categories; Bank of China (Hong Kong) Limited is sponsoring these prizes; in addition, Professor HUANG Weidong from BUAA will host a talk regarding scientific research importance on daily lives impact and impactful implications that fellows should attend for discussion!
